		| I havn't boughten any parts yet for the upper end, but my tentative plan was the crane roller cam, with the recommended lifters, springs, retainers, and locks from crane. I was going to get the FPA rocker stands and shafts and put comp. cams roller rockers on them. Part of the reason I wanted to go roller is to shorten the length of the pushrod, which is going to be a hardened one. As for cost, the list price on the crane stuff totals about 800 list, but I have a hook up on crane parts, so I can do a little better than that. The FPA stands and shafts costs about 350, and the rockers are almost 300. If I can't buy the right length pushrods, I already talked to the local reputable machine shop about a custom set (the have also built a lot of FEs). I will also be putting in new valves. The machine shop will be putting in new guides and hardened seats. Right now, I have the block bare with the oiling mods done, and the heads are bare too. I am currently waiting for my bearings to put the short block back together first. |
