RE: can I do it? |

The intake manifold is one area where I hear a lot of controversy over what is good, and what isn't worth the money. Some say the stock "S" code intake is good, or as good as the edelbrock one. The intake I have should be the "S" code I believe. I know I can save weight with an aluminum intake, but that isn't going to be the reason I buy one.
As far as machining goes, I plan to have the the crank balanced, new valve guides, seats, and a 3 angles valve job done. The block did not need to be bored or the crank turned (I thoroughly measured everything with a micrometer). This is going to be a mostly street engine that might see some part time heavy duty use. I want to build it to last. I won't have the engine back in the car until probably May because i'm doing other things with the car as well while the engine and trans are out. But I will post what I think when it is on the street. Thanks to all who are responding. |
