Sure there more aftermarket parts of the 396m but I believe the 390 to be a sounder engine, and yes it also comes down to all of the other components on your car. I've already mentioned my SS killer, and thats in a heavy-ass cougar. I've NEVER been beat by a 396, hell, I've only *needed* to use the nitrous on one exotic I had no business racing in the first place. As for torque? My 390 SNAPPED its wheelie bars in one drag...(okay, yes, they were home welded)...thank God I had subframe connectors or I would have twisted the whole car up. Your going to lose some torque with that c-6 though, I run with the big block 4-speed toploader. 390s can't handle 400 horse? Ridiculous, not if properly built. |
