Yes you can, but why stop there? You have a good block to make into a larger engine, if you use a 428 crank. What is the bore size? If you take a piston to a shop they could mike it for you. These blocks have a history of problems with the cam bearing bores. Have the cam brgs removed and look closely at the housing bore they are pressed into. Sometimes the casting is hardly enough to support a seal of the oil groove to brg. The operator at the factory is in a hurry and does not get the cutter tool installed in the middle of the bore. Also mike the outside of the main caps to see if any of them are "sucking in", for want of a better term. They must fit tight in their respective register or you will have problems. |
