There was a good article in a mag shortly after the movie came out. There were several cars - something like 12-13. Most had small blocks. One was an original 390, but I don't know if they kept that engine. One was hopped up a lot and either driven or kept by a producer or other big-wig. That may be the one you're thinking about. None of them were real Shelby's except for the one used in the very last scene. That's the scene where Nic Cage's brother gives him a car.

I don't remember all the details, so I may be off a bit. I may have the article in the garage. If I find it I'll post.
