Actually, I'm not sure this will tell much (it depends on the exhaust system design).
I'm wondering if one of the heads has a partially-clogged oil drainback passage at the rear of the block. This'll allow the head to fill, causing the rear cylinders on the clogged side to draw oil down the stems..
Which sparkplugs have an oily insulator?
I've recently learned of the value of a leak-down test, too. I've still never done one, but probably will eventually. If I recall, a leak-down tester is about $60.00 (I might be off a bit).
