By all means, do it yourself as a class project, that is the best way to learn. I hope your instructor is well experienced and not biased against Fords. Be sure you do a complete diagnosis of the existing problem so you can be sure to address that as you go along. This seems like the kind of board that you can get realistic advice on while doing this job. Keep us posted on your progress as I'm sure there are many here that would like to see/hear how you are doing with it. The finished engine will be a source of great pride when you are driving your car again. Get a cheap camera and take pix as you go through the rebuild, you will enjoy them for years to come. |
