This manifold was used on Richard Petty's Talledega race car during the one year that he raced Fords. One of the features of this design was it's tuneability with the stuffers which reduced or enlarged the plenumn volume according to the needs for any track. It used a flat plate on top so you could make another for any type of carburetion you wanted to use. One of the manifold makers made some intakes that were called "Smokey Ram" in the late '70s, I think. I've not seen but a very few. Just too many tuning problems I imagine. The manifold shown is for the Tunnel Port engines, He made quite a few for the Boss 429 NASCAR engines, probably 10 or so. Here's a pic of the bottom of the same intake.
