How's this sound

I've been dragging a 427 side oiler and a bunch of FE parts around for years and have decided it's time to put it together. I've got a 428 crank, LeMans rods, .030 over pistons to match the block overbore, a couple sets of ported CJ heads, adjustable rocker arms, Mickey Thompson Cross Ram Log manifold with a pair of early 427 Holleys (1300CFM total), several sets of headers to fit the '66 -69 Falcon-Fairlane-Comet body including a set of the Mickey Thompson equal length ones that stagger the header pipes in the collector. I also have a Lakewood, close and wide ratio Toploaders, 4.30 and 4.71 pumpkins, Hurst linelock, MSD 6, etc.

I believe my compression ratio will be around 11 or 12 to one but will cc'd everything to get something in that range. I don't have a cam or valves for one set of heads (lost them and don't ask me where, if I knew they wouldn't be lost). I also will have to find a car probably a '66 Falcon preferably a wagon for this engine after its finished next spring. I may drive it occasionally on the street but mostly for the strip, racing against my best previous time just to see if I can make it go faster. WIll probably gut the interior and add whatever roll bar/cage that NHRA requires. I really don't want to rev much over 6000 (well, maybe 6500) so it will live. (I've blown up a couple from over reving many years ago so a rev limiter that can't be reached from the driver's seat will be installed.) I haven't a clue as to how fast it might go.

For a cam I'm very seriously considering the larger of the Crane Hydraulic Rollers dual pattern (300 308 advertised, 238 246 @ 0.050, with .632 .655 gross lift, 112 lope separation) and getting a set of roller rocker arms in lieu of the stock FE adjustables. I am wondering about air flow and whether this engine and manifold would work with that cam. I'm also willing to increase the valve size if that would be possible. I would love to swap those CJ heads for a set of 427 Medium Riser heads but I wonder if MR heads would work the Cross Ram manifold since the manifold runners are really not that big; the runners may be too small for the CJ heads but I really want to use that manifold.

Comments and suggestions welcomed.
