Bob & Scott, In Pat Gahls book of Ford performance they also list a color code chart for the FE engine(427).
I have read this in other MM articles aswell. I have an engine with no castings and the color code of green behind the starter. I would presume that with no castings on the block their must be another way to ID general aplications of these blocks. Any other refferences would be helpfull.
