It doesn't look like you're getting much feedback on this Tom. I can't say for sure what you've got there. I'll just opinionate that it sounds like an eclectic piecer. Parts of a Torino mixed with a '68/'69 Montego, etc. You're right that the 351W was not available until '69. I never saw or heard of anything produced by FoMoCo in 1968 with a 351. With all the VIN & id numbers missing, how do you know it's a '68? Might it be a '69? There were subtle differences between a '68 & '69 Montego & Torino. Parking lights, grills, taillights are just a few that come to mind. One sure easy quick way is to look at the side glass edges.....if there's chrome trim around the side glass edge, you've got a '68. If no chrome trim edging of the side glass, you may have a '69.
