RE: Oil Dipstick Tube won't fit

Just got my 390 back from shop and have similar problem. There is a short tube in the block that is flared. My dipstick tube has the same flare on it.
Am I missing a joining tube that connects the two?
The shop doesn't recall disassembly (different person doing disassmbly).
