Cj main bearings

Just went to put the main bearings in my 428cj and noticed that the oil holeson the bearing don't line up with the oil holes on the mains except on the end main journal..The oil hole is showing only half of the oil hole on the mains....Do i make the hole to match or is this a factory restriction design?
Is this fords way of reducing the oil flow?
Any help would be appreciated...
