If the T-Bird fan will clear the radiator it should work. The 390 is a tight fit in the Mustang / Cougar body and needs everything to work well for adequate cooling. You will likely be ok on the freeway and maybe even in town during the winter months but when the outside temperature reaches low 80's or above you will need a good radiator, a fan shroud and a fan that works.
Hayden makes a flex fan for this application that works well too.
The T Bird used an Autolite carb that will work great on that engine, otherwise a Holley 0-3310-3 is always a great choice. That is the P/N for Holley's 750 vacuum secondary carb.
