Thanks for the suggestion. It normally would be relatively easy to use a tow bar. However, this car was wacked pretty good up front just ahead of the driver's side wheel and spun around. Could have only used a tow dolly and I'd have been too nervous to trust the rear hadn't shifted to roll it 150+ miles (you probably missed my recent post on the general forum about an interesting trip using a tow dolly :-). Besides, time and work logistics dictated I have someone bring it down for me and a high $ tow bill would have negated the good deal. A tentative deal was made, but in the end, it came down to a simple matter of cash: someone up there waved it and wasn't worth getting into a bidding war over. Unfortunately, I suspect the buyer will be parting it out. That's not to say I wouldn't have done the same if it turned out too impractical to fix, but that wasn't my first intention. |
