True, but I was talking about "normal" production cars.
I wonder if they're still fooling around with weird things like they used to. You know, like the 302 SOHC.
What I mean is that you hear about how the factory used to experiment with things like the tunnel port or SOHC, etc. I wonder if that experimentation has gone away, and they've replaced it with computer modeling.
As high-tech as the 4.6 DOHC engine is, I've gotta believe that a company the size of Ford is experimenting or doing feasibility studies on things like replacements for poppet valves or hydro-electric valves or something like that. The only thing you hear about is the gas-electric stuff. |
