Still it can be a 428, 428CJ and possibly a 428SCJ because it may not be the original engine or one of Fords little secrets is at work here. The 428CJ was optional in 1968, so if an engine failed in 1969 under a warranty claim isn't it possible it was replaced with a 428 SCJ by the dealership? You have to remember how the Ford Motor Company operated. I have seen engines not supposedly available until the next year or a certain car. Still there the engine sits installed by Ford straight from the factory. A very good thing to remember when dealing with these Fords, believe what you see too and not just what you read. |
