428cj oil capacity and K&N filter

I have a couple of questions. First is in reference to recent post about 428cj oil capacity. When I rebuilt my 428, I was unable to reuse the original oil pan. I do not think it is a cj pan. I am using the original dip stick with the crome end. This was a late '68 built '69 Mustang. Oil pressure when at operating temp. runs about 35-40 psi, when cold it's close to 100psi. I am using an aftermarket guage (Auto meter). I am running 5-1/2 quarts of oil. Any concerns or suggestions would be appeciated. Second question (much less important), has anyone used a K&N air filter with stock ram air set up and if so, any significant performance improvement over paper media filter?
