If you go to the outstate salvage yards (the type which actually keeps old cars and trucks for decades, rather than churning the stock to reap fast money and government recycling credits), you'll find lots of FE truck pans.

Since you may not presently know where these yards are, I'd see about having the hole welded with a sheetmetal patch before I'd attempt an epoxy patch fix. At the first dent the epoxy patch will break, wheras a welded patch will likely handle a few good hits.
