| I sent a lengthy email to Royce about this but thought that some of you might benifit from this info on these heads. Edelbrock put cheap springs and shims in these heads. I had a spring go bad at 5000 miles that almost dropped a valve and all of the .015 shims under the valves were not hardened and the damper chewed them up. If you have these heads you had better check it out or you will be sorry. If you are ok then no harm done but if you are one of the lucky ones like me you will be sorry if you don't check it out. My machinist is telling me to buy the hardened .015 shims for the big block shi..I mean chevy from the local GM dealership and replace them. Just FYI. |
