FYI, running lash too tight will not round off ...

...the lobes on a cam . It will bend pushrods and/or allow valves to kiss pistons.

Rounded cam lobes are caused by: a) improper break in (95%); b) poor quality or mis-spec'd heat treating by the manufacturer (4%); or c) too much valve spring pressure (1%); percentages are my guesstimates from experience. It can also be a combiation of these.
