There is a nifty tool made for doing this job in the car. It is a split tube with a barb at the end and a threaded shaft in the center. You push the tool into the tailhousing until the barb "clicks" over the end of the bushing. Then you turn the threaded shaft like a harmonic balancer puller and it pull out the bushing.
The new bushing must be installed with a hollow bushing driver to fit around the output shaft. If these tools are not available, you with have to remove the tailhousing from the vehicle and do it on the bench.
Be careful, it is easy to screw up the bushing if you don't have the right tools.
