Yes pulling the engine is your best bet seeing the clutch is needing replacement. I had the same car not long ago and did a ground up on it .If your car is original you have quite a gem. This job is not to hard and I used to do it myself. To make it easier on yourself you should drop the trans and bell housing before taking out the engine this will allow you to tip the engine to get it past the shock towers.Also droping the sway bar will make the job much easier. When you do the rear seal you will want to use a neoprean seal (Felpro).
