Hook-up of existin MSD tach adaptor

Since you mentioned already having a tach adaptor it may be wired-in wrong. The MSD PN 8920 tach adaptor can be wired to work either as voltage or current triggered.

I checked my setup and with the red wire from the PN 8920 connected to the wire supplying ignition-on signal to the MSD Box and the purple wire from the PN 8920 curled up and tugged away my tach works fine.
