RE: 66 428 PI balancer beveled edge

So, are the numbers on the front a julian date, 138th day of 1966? I'm used to the typical casting date of 6E23 etc. What was the reason for the bevel on the back edge? I forgot to mention the pully is 6 5/8" dia. Thanks, Courtney Bolze.
