A 67 390GT is an excellent engine that can produce a lot of both HP and torque and last a long time.

If you search this site you will find that at power combo often recommended is to add an Edelbrock Performer RPM, FPA headers and electronic ignition - in addition to keeping the 66-68 GT cam.

With a healthy 390GT with those parts in place in the relative lightweight 67 Cougar you will have to be carefull how you engage the gas pedel on a rainy day.
