Is there any chance it's a 390-4V car, not a GT?

Does your car have an "S" code in the VIN number? Are the thermactor ports in the head plugged or undrilled?

I am quite perplexed over the inconsistencies I've seen with the 1968 GT engine, and wonder whether a large part of it might be due to the availability of the non-GT 390-4V engine in the Fairlane and Mustang, as that version had a mild cam which did not require an exhaust gas reactor to pass emissions.

There has to be some substance to a 390GT:Thermactor correlation for 1968, and I'll find a pattern sooner or later.

Shoe.
