It is just like a gear ratio, if you have to turn a nut 20 turns to go one inch, it will clamp much tighter than a nut that only needs to go 5 turns to go one inch. So if you torque a fine thread bolt down to the same torque as a coarse bolt, I think you would over torque the head. But who am I to know. Thats why I am asking you guys.
