You need the Comp Cams spring kit too.

You can't expect thirty year old valve springs to be any good. Get the ones that Comp recommends for that cam.

I have run that cam in several FE's. It is a great cam for a stock torque converter, about the most cam that can be run with one. Makes massive amounts of low and mid range torque.
