While I'm here...a guaranteed 500HP 428? |

The eventual outcome of my 428 engine is to be shoe-horned into a 1982 Ford LTD Police Interceptor (sick of the puny 302 in this land barge). I am looking to get as much horsepower and torque out of this engine as possible without sacrificing component durability... in other words, I want it to be able to take what I dish it and still have time for tea afterwards. I am looking at the magical 500 HP mark, but slightly less is OK if 500 will stress this engine beyond it's mechanical limits. With that out of the way, on to the real topic...
What parts combo should I shoot for when building this engine? Does anyone out there have a blueprint of the 428, or 428CJ engine that can reliably produce 500+ HP? If so I would be greatly appreciative if I could have a look-see. Detailed information like cam/valvetrain and intake manifold selection, head choices and modification, and carburetor selection are my largest concerns. This engine is going in front of a C-6 tranny with high-energy guts and 3.50 - 4.11 rear end gears hopefully housed in a posi. Thanks for any help. |
