And I agree with you Royce regarding the casting #s being meaningless, except as I said, it's always important to have the block sonic checked/mapped before shelling out the bucks. That was my reasoning that a C6ME may be anything from a 352 - 428.
My C6ME with a 4.16 bore checked out sonically with a .166 thinnest thickness on the thrust side. Some were .211, the thinnest non thrust was .119. It was the .119 that kept me from boring it again to 4.23. My machinist/sonic checker said this partiuclar block would take a 4.23 but it would be marginal for street use. I'm staying with my initial bore selection. But now I'm having a difficult time making a piston choice.
