RE: teflon valve seals |

My performance books suggest teflon seals for the intakes, and a non-teflon (rubber only) for the exhaust. This lets a little oil flow down the exhaust valve stems to help cool the exhaust valves. I am using this setup for the 410 I'm currently building. The book also said don't use umbrella type seals. My exhaust seals are seal power or pioneer?? They look the same as the teflon seal but without the teflon. The Comp Cam springs I recently purchased were all at the low end of the acceptable load range. I returned them and ordered springs and retainers from Crane. Hope they are better. Also bought Crane's calibration spring for checking the spring checker. Hope this helps. |
