Now mind you I am an Autolite 4100 guy all the way & that is what my built 390 is getting. But from what I have heard is that out of the box the Edelbrock makes more power but if you tune the Holley properly you will make more HP. Now if you are interested in the Autolite you can check the Ford carb fourm they deal with all Ford carbs but are 4100 & 2100 Autolite nuts. Also you can check out Pony Carburetors.
Now if I were to try a Holley I would try out their new truck carbs. They claim/offer better torque & several other improvments. Which sound perfect for cars or trucks. And I just saw I one of the car mags suggest the same thing. I was thinking this ever since that carb first came out. But for now I am sitcking with my Ford built Autolite 4100's for reliability & preformance.
I agree with the CFM suggestions though. I wouldn't go over 650CFM. Too many people over carb their engines which cost them preformance & power.
