yeah that's what I thought too. These came off a 66 390 2V that I got for the C6AE-R heads. The link below will take you to the DSC site where they are referred to as hi-po items. It does seem like a good idea to keep the oil off the top of the heads, but I haven't yet convinced myself that they will actually do that. Anyone ever use these on purpose?
