Hayden lists the 2710 as the correct fan clutch for Fe Mustangs/Cougars. The 2711 is the same as the 2710 but .35 inch shorter. Anyone asking for a Hayden Fan clutch for the above application will be handed the longer model 2710. Are you sure that it was the 2711 model that didn't fit ?
I don't mean to be rude. I am just really attached to the idea that new fan clutches still can be purchased.

Someone on either this forum or at mercurycougar.net got a new fan clutch that was the equivalent to the 2711 from his local parts store and it fit nicely.

Personally I had not heard of this option when I had mine rebuilt by Fred Oliva in Florida.
