Hi Jack:
I just pulled my oil pan for the first time and found a similar 'fin' fixed to the shallow end of the oil pan. It's about 4" long and about 1" high, but it's pushed over flat - is this what you are talking about? I have a 428CJ as well. Where exactly did you see the date stamp on your pan?
