| I've tried just about everything, even the two part cleaners (second additive is to neutralize the first one). They all seem to help for a short period. Unfortunatley I know of no substitute for having the block hot-tanked if you want a really good job. Since you probably dont' want to do that, try some of the two part cleaners available. I take it you thought the rad was the problem and had it recored. Maybe you can find an old crappy one and install it for the flushing procedure. Not as much work as taking the engine all apart to hot-tank it, yet still a pain....you could just have the heads hot-tanked. They seem to be the major contributor to over-heating. Oh, and don't let your engine idle with cold water from a garden hose in it. The engine won't warm up and will wear at a more advanced rate. |
