snorkel air valve

I have what is believed to be a 68 snorkel with a air valve that is to be applied with 2 screws on the underside with a rod that runs inside to operate the flapper. Does anyone know what car or the correct year or anything about this style as I have asked a few of the experts and they have no idea. The gentleman I bought it from says it is a 68, for a mustang 390 thanks Chuck
