if you put the 428 crank in,now a diff flywheel,balancing etc,i agree with giacomo.i loved the trick of making a 406 out of a 428,just for the higher rpm,in a stick car/truck,my opinion,or you can bore that 390 to 60 over(according to ford books)safleywould bee 401 cubes
