Getting trans kickdown linkage to work

Have a 390GT/CruiseOMatic/Holley 3310 750dual feed set up. Problem is I can never kick the trans into "passing gear". I've backed out screw on kick down rod linkage to where it's practically falling out.

And yet it still is too far away from carb lever to hit it.

Screw is 1" long...supplied by Holley. Looks like metric treads with a large flat but rounded edge head. Looking for similar screw...10/32 should work but starts to screw in tightly and has much smaller head.

Don't want to jury rig something...any ideas?

Grant
