cruiso to C6 swap

Yes I did later swap in a C6. The shifter linkage and kickdown fit ok, but a C6 is longer and the trans mount location is also further back. On a 66
Galaxie the rear crossmember is offset, it offsets forward for a cruise-o-matic. For a C6 you turn it around and it fits for a C6. There are also extra holes to remount the emergency brake mechanism.
Your driveshaft may need shortened or you might
get by putting a shorter yoke on your rearend if
you have the long one now. I got a drive shaft out a 67 galaxie with a C6. In 66 you could get either
trans in a Galaxie, but the shift indicater still
said cruise-o-matic. Hope this helps.
