Scott, I looked in the Ford 70 shop manual for your answer. It says that all V8 engines (except 351) firing order is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8. And this firing order is also under the engine section for the 429 CID engine. So, that looks to be your firing order. I hope this helps.
