I have a 390 in my 65 full size car. I went with the same intake you have for the same reason. Some people do not relize that there are alot of us who just don't have the money for those great (and expensive) parts. The S-code manifold has slightly larger runners in it as compared to a regular 4V and performs great with either a 600cfm or 750cfm. I used both. the 750cfm is a little better. The better heads (note: not the best) are the C8ae-h heads. They were used on the GT390's and can be found on regular passenger cars as well. I can get a set from $75.00 a pair in my area. Don't worry about all of that porting stuff either. Not unless you have money to burn or plan on racing. The S-code with C8AE-H heads and a good cam should get you at least 335hp. And for not a whole lot of money. good luck. Scott. |
