Your reply states that "they seal perfect with a gasket" am I correct in assuming that you meant to say "they seal perfect without a gasket? I'm aware that Ford machined the manifold surfaces and that a gasket was not normally used on new production line engines. The car had exhaust manifold gaskets when I took it apart and showed no signs of ever having been apart. So if I understand your reply correctly you are saying, assuming my cylinder head and exhaust manifold mating surfaces are in good shape I should assemble my new moter with out manifold gaskets to reduce the chance of manifold cracks?

The MPC lists FE exh. gaskets, but they're not 'factory' parts [n/m] -- Mr F, 10/15/2000
