It's just a movie... |

Yeah, and a pretty lame one at that. Too bad they didn't show more of the cars then simple 1-2 second establishing shots and quick takes. And how about more car talk? Or how about explaining how these guys can boost your ride so easily. Oh, and how about more car shots? And get rid of the chick, for cryin' out loud. She added absolutely zero to that flick. It was a typical Hollywood feature: a car theme to attract the guys; add a girl for love interest to draw in the women and to up the "conflict;" toss in a couple of lame car chases; blow up a boat or two; salt liberally with sterotyped bad guys . . . ho-hum! I gave it one-and-a-half tire irons. Good car movies? Well, lets start with "Bullitt" and then as the second movie in our double-feature presentation we'll see "The French Connection." THOSE were chase scenes!! Nowadays all they do is run the car about a half a mile then blow it up. Whoop-di-do. |
