The stock 428 CJ rods are perfectly adequate unless you are planning on running 11.00 second or quicker in the quarter mile. I would recommend that you spend you money on a the higher quality pistons instead. Make sure to use a good set of new rod bolts and have the rods magnafluxed and resized. The lighter pistons will ease the balancing job and improve acceleration.
