A Torino toploader is longer than a Mustang toploader. I don't know how they compare with the length of your C6, but I suspect the C6 is the same length as a Mustang toploader.

The Torino tranny should fit your engine fine. The shifter will mount to far back though. You'll need to buy a "conversion" plate to reposition it closer to the engine. You'll also have problems with driveshaft lengths. I think the crossmember will be okay.

You may want to talk to David Kee Toploaders. A much better solution is to trade the Torino toploader for a Mustang toploader. Then, your only problem will be the driveshaft length in the Torino (assuming the C6 is the same length as the Mustang tranny).

I'm also assuming the coolant lines and shifter are no problem with the C6 in the Torino.

The balance should be okay. The 428 flexplate and 428 flywheel should have the same balance. If you are worried or if the 428 was balanced with the flexplate, you could cart both over to a shop and have the flywheel balanced to the flexplate.
