Jason; The advice you've been getting is pretty much on the mark as far as using a 3/8" ratchet wrench with about 15 inches of extensions and a universal joint at the spark plug socket. I've found that all universal joints aren't created equal. After blowing apart a couple Craftsman universal joints, breaking the spark plugs loose, I noticed the Snap On universal joints were stronger and able to make sharper turns which is what you need to get to some of the plugs. The Snap On universal joint makes the job so much easier to do. Put a little oil or grease on it. This works for me on my '69 CJ Mach-1s. I seriously doubt if you'll find a mechanic to do it for $25. These cars are usually exempt from the $49.95 tune up specials! |
