		...my block photo is a D4TE, not a C6ME.  It seems like the C6ME was available in cars and trucks around '66-'71 or so (I'm still learning this).
  I posted the "501 block" photo because I'm making "noise in general" about block stuff as I find things out.  Right now, I've crudely defined a standard 390 cylinder as one I can find at least one place to stick a 1/4" drill-bit between the cylinders in the water jacket, usually only near the deck-surface where taper is maximum.
  My HD 390 cylinders (which have been sonic mapped) cannot fit a 13/64" drillbit at any spot between the cylinders.  Yup, it's crude, and I've only started this "drillbit" check in the past week when I bought a drill bit set specifically for this task.
  Maybe it'll pan out and show repeatability, maybe not.  Now I've just gotta wrestle some more bare blocks off the shelf so I can measure them.
