Converting to propane reduces the power output by about 15-20%. Granted, it was a truck, and it saw many loads of wood, rocks, etc., but the trans gave out after about 70,000 miles. I don't remember what went wrong. I just remember replacing it with a Mustang 3-speed. I think this was mentioned a few months ago, though, and someone else had good results with his. My opinion is that trans work is nasty enough not to have to deal with it twice.
